Great conformation and personality are the hallmarks of this 2021 red roan stallion out of Peptospoonful Cash by Bettin Yer Smart.
Expectations for Fiver, as he is known on the ranch, are already high. Deb and Sterling say he is going to be “fantastic.” He is built to perform yet one of the most gorgeous colts to look at we've seen in a long time.
Fiver’s sire is from the last foal crop of Long Pines' NRCHA champion stallion Bettin Yer Smart, son of Smart Little Lena and Bet Yer Boons, and grandson of NCHA Open World Champion Bet Yer Blue Boons. At the 2012 Snaffle Bit Futurity, Bettin Yer Smart won the Open Hackamore division, the first horse from the Northern Plains to win at this prestigious event. A few months later, he won NRCHA World Reserve Open Hackamore Champion. He qualified for NRCHA worlds in hackamore, two-rein and bridle.
In the AQHA, Bettin Yer Smart was 2011 High Point Open Junior Working Cow Horse, earning 36.5 AQHA points plus a Register of Merit in Open Performance. Bettin Yer Smart is among an honored few to be named an NRCHA Supreme Working Cow Horse.
Fiver’s mother is a 2006 AQHA red roan mare with linage that includes Peppy San Badger, Royal Blue Boon and Smart Little Lena. Peptospoonful Cash’s sire is Hes a Peptospoonful, who sired 1,074 foals in his lifetime, 350 of which were Performers who amassed 209 performance wins, including a world championship and a reserve world championship, and 1,187.5 performance points. Hes a Peptospoonful had NCHA earnings of $72,850 and offspring earnings of nearly $5 million.
Peptospoonful Cash competed as a 3-year-old at the NCHA Futurity and moved seamlessly to a broodmare after proving herself as a quality cow horse.
With his dam’s quiet disposition and his sire’s drive to compete and breeding record, Fiver is a colt to watch. He’ll be an asset on the ranch and in in the ring.
