A True Champion with Power and Try

Bettin Yer Smart (Jayhawk) earned winnings in all phases of reined cow horse: futurity, snaffle, hackamore, two-rein and bridle, including a National Championship. In 2020, he returned to the showpen, alongside his winning offspring.

More About Bettin Yer Smart

This 2007 red roan stallion that was 15 hands and weighed about 1,100 pounds, was humanely euthanized at the Long Pines ranch due to a severe stifle injury on Aug. 30, 2021. Bettin Yer Smart foals born in 2019 and beyond are NRCHA Stallion Stakes eligible. Horses by Bettin Yer Smart and Judgemental are eligible for AQHA Ranchers Heritage and SDRCHA Stallion Stakes.

Passing It On

Long Pines Land and Livestock wasn’t looking for a stallion when they saw Bettin Yer Smart at Justin Lawrence Cow Horses, but they couldn’t walk away from him. Under Justin’s program, this big-hearted roan defined working cow horse in the Northern Plains. His great versatility, trainability and try are carried on in his bloodline.
