In 2018, Pink repeated a the Open All-Around Ranch Horse and secured the title of Supreme All-Around Horse at the Black Hills Stock Show. We purchased this talented mare from Bill and Janiejill Tointon. Pink is sired by the great reined cow horse stallion Shining Lil Nic, whose earnings exceed $163,000. His progeny has won more than $250,000 in NRCHA, NCHA and AQHA Incentive Fund competition. Pink’s dam, Lean With Mia, earned more than $23,000 in the NRCHA and AQHA. Pink already has a stellar show record! In addition to qualifying for both the NRCHA and AQHA World Shows in 2015, she won the AQHA All-Around Versatility Ranch Horse, Open All-Around Ranch Horse and Reserve Supreme Horse at the 2017 Black Hills Stock Show. She won reining, trail, ranch riding and conformation; second in herd; third in cow work and steer stopping.

This fancy mare is no stranger to ranch work either. She has drug calves to the branding fire and pasture roped cattle. Pink is a beautiful mare with a great disposition and strong work ethic.

Miss Wyoming Sugar

"Sugar" is a 1999 AQHA Sorrel Mare

Sugar joined us in 2017 from Bill and Janiejill Tointon. She is a beautiful sorrel mare with big bone, excellent conformation and a pleasant disposition. Her pedigree is a great match for the Long Pines program! Sugar is a daughter of Wyoming Doc, the 1977 NCHA Non-Pro Open Derby Cutting Champion with NCHA earnings of more than $123,175. Her maternal grandsire is the legendary Colonel Freckles.

Sugar was never shown due to injury but has proven herself as a broodmare. She is the dam of Wyopeptogirl with NRCHA earnings in excess of $4,345 and Lil Joe Namath with NRCHA earnings of more than $5,385. We are excited to have this great mare at Long Pines Land and Livestock.

"Cash" is a 2006 AQHA Red Roan Mare

This exceptional mare is sired by Hes a Peptospoonful (deceased), earner of $72,850.89 in NCHA with offspring earnings nearing $5 million. Her dam, Swinging Cash Five, has NCHA earnings of $3,140.62. Cash competed at the NCHA Futurity during her 3-year-old year.

This mare has a kind and quiet disposition and is an outstanding using horse. She has some big moves on cattle and is a favorite among our cowboys. We are pleased to add this great mare to our broodmare band.

Raisin is one of Larry’s favorite broodmares. She is a former team roping horse that has produced wonderful ranch and performance horses. Lots of run in her pedigree! Her sire, Dashin Attraction, SI 88, has track earnings of $2,384 and is a son of the immortal Dash for Cash. Her dam is sired by Dr. Kirk (SI 98, $27,473) out of a daughter of Raise Your Glass (TB).

Her 2014 filly, Easily Judged, is sired by Judgemental has a very willing personality with a lot of style. She was purchased by a rancher to be the main mount for a teenage girl.

"Chick" is a 1998 AQHA Bay Mare

Chick is a trained reiner and cow horse but was never shown. She has a lot of cow and can go all day on the ranch. Her sire, Taris Catalyst, earned $181,373.04 in the NCHA and is a son of Doc Tari, who needs no introduction! Her dam’s sire, Sonita’s Last, earned $35,356.64 in NCHA, and is a son of Peppy San. Chick is a proven producer. Her 2016 colt by Judgmental is stunning.

"Marilyn" is a 1997 AQHA Palomino Mare

Marilyn is a powerfully pedigreed and well accomplished mare that we are proud to add to our broodmare lineup. We purchased this daughter of the legendary Shining Spark (NRCHA $3 million sire and $4 million NRHA sire) from Bill and Janiejill Tointon. Her dam is a daughter of the well-known Doc Tari.

This beautiful palomino took the titles of 2010 NRCHA Reined Cow Horse World Champion (earnings in NRCHA of more than $12,444), 14th place in the Amateur Working Cow Horse - AQHA World Show 2005 as well as 10 AQHA wins, 48.5 AQHA performance points and two ROMs (amateur and open). Five of Marilyn’s foals have impressive show records as well. Most notably; Chexy Little Sister (AQHA World Championship Show earnings almost $5,400; National Reined Cow Horse Association more than $8,630) and Digger She Sparkles (AQHA World Show qualifier twice, NRCHA earnings in excess of $10,400).

Shiney Vaca Reina

"Shiney" is a 2007 AQHA Palomino Mare

Shiney came to us from the Black Rock Ranch in Idaho. She is sired by Vaca Rey, a fancy son of Smart Little Lena and Autumn Boon, whose show career prematurely ended due to an injury. Vaca Rey is a full brother to Wild Thing DNA ($109,558 earnings) and Boon A Little ($18,404 earnings). Shiney’s dam is Miss Shiney Cat, a daughter of the legendary Shining Spark, who is a two-time AQHA World Show qualifier in Amateur Reining & Amateur Cow Horse.

This mare has a kind disposition and is very willing to please. Everything about her says “great broodmare.” She helped raise an orphaned foal in 2016, in addition to her own, and is held in high regard at the ranch. We have three foals out of Shiney, including a 2016 palomino filly sired by Bettin Yer Smart.

"I.B." is a 2004 Sorrel Mare

To say I.B. is royally bred is an understatement. She is an own daughter of the great Dual Rey (LTE $118,000 with offspring earnings of $26 million). Her dam, Smartilena (NCHA LTE $3,384), is by Smart Little Lena (LTE $577,652 with offspring earnings of $24 million).

This little mare is extremely cowy, quick on her feet, and a trained cutter and cow horse. She has produced outstanding foals, including the 2014 gray mare Rey Judgemental (sired by Judgemental), 2013 chestnut gelding Rey Cool Cat (sired by Smooth Talking Cat), and 2012 bay gelding Rey Smarter (sired by Sir Fred Von Freckle).

Smokin Hickory Girl

"Smoke" is a 1993 Bay Mare

We purchased Smoke to be Sterling’s high school cutting mare and she became so much more! She is sired by Mr Smoky Lena (LTE $ 3,548; progeny earnings exceeding $36,000), who is a grandson of Doc O’Lena. Smoke’s dam, SR Hickory Lena (offspring earnings over $117,000) is by Doc's Hickory, whose offspring have won nearly $18 million.

Smoke is a grand old mare and all-around talent—cutter, reiner, cow horse, ranch horse, speed events, etc. She was the 2005 Buffalo Regional High School Rodeo Boy’s Cutting Champion and qualified for the SD High School Rodeo Finals and National High School Rodeo Finals in 2004, 2005 and 2008. Her offspring have been standouts in roping and barrel racing. We are honored that our good friend and outstanding barrel racer, Cindy (Painter) Mankin, offered this special mare to us several years ago.

Spark Plug Cat

"Cat" is a 1998 Bay Mare

Cat is sired by the legendary stallion Shining Spark (NRCHA $3 million sire and $4 million NRHA sire). Her dam is Catalyst Lady Di (NRHA LTE $2,913) by Taris Catalyst, a Doc Tari son who was the 1983 World Champion Open Jr. Cutter (NCHA LTE $181,373). Cat was a broodmare until entering the show ring in 2007 in NRCHA, AQHA reining and working cow horse, and ranch horse competitions. In 2007, she was 9th in the Yearend NRCHA North Central Region Open Two Rein and was ranked in the 2007 NRCHA National Standings with limited showing. She has an AQHA Open Performance ROM.

This wonderful mare has a phenomenal disposition, big bone, and a strong work ethic. Cat is Deb’s go-to ranch horse and is a great confidence booster for young or inexperienced riders. Her offspring are sought after for ranch and arena work.
