This premier calving ease bull began his career in 2014 breeding Long Pines purebred females and he hasn’t looked back. His semen is now available. LP Smart Choice 55Z produces easy-calving offspring, daughters that make good mothers, and classic examples of the best Irish Black genetics, including Long Pines’ standout sire LP Smart Beginnings 530C and LP Extra Dividend 630D. Several of his sons are Long Pines herd sires and his daughters are at home here, too. His dam is Miss Polled Irish 555R, one of Maurice Boney’s top embryo donor cows. She and LP Smart Choice 55Z were purchased by Long Pines as a pair in 2012. His sire is Mr. Polled perfection Dividend BE41X, a popular sire in Boney’s herd known for producing easy-calving offspring, efficient finishing calves and excellent cows. LP Smart Choice 55Z was sold to Diamond H Livestock in Montana in 2018, where he is still going strong. At almost 8 years of age, he settled more than 50 heifers within a 45-day window.
