Everything about Shiney Vaca Reina says “great broodmare.” She came from the Black Rock Ranch in Idaho, has a kind disposition, and is very willing to please. One of Long Pines’ best mothers, she helped raise an orphaned foal in 2016 in addition to her own. Long Pines has three foals out of Shiney by Bettin Yer Smart, including Smart Vaca Reina, who entered the showpen in 2019.
Shiney is sired by Vaca Rey, a fancy son of Smart Little Lena and Autumn Boon, whose show career prematurely ended due to an injury. Vaca Rey is a full brother to Wild Thing DNA ($109,558 earnings) and Boon A Little ($18,404 earnings). Shiney’s dam is Miss Shiney Cat, a daughter of the legendary Shining Spark.
